Payment
Payment for classes is due in full at the time of registration. Your seat in class will not be guaranteed unless payment has been received. The Advantage School of Real Estate accepts the following forms of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Paypal or check.
Cancellation
The Advantage School of Real Estate reserves the right to cancel classes with a full refund to all paying participants. Classes may be cancelled or posponed if a minimum number of have not pre-registered with 5 days of the class. If you must cancel your registration due to a conflict, your cancellation must be received no later than 2 business days prior to the start of class. Business days are considered Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. No shows will not receive a refund/credit and no refunds/credits will be issued after the start of class. Cancellations due to sickness, injury, or extreme emergency will receive a credit to take another course within same real estate year of originally scheduled course.
Online CE
Online CE courses must be completed within 30 days of registration per North Carolina Real Estate Commission Guidelines. If they are not completed in 30 days, you must purchase the course again. Additionally, the state blackout period must also be observed: CE for this cycle must be successfully completed by June 10, 2010. The Advantage School of Real Estate DOES NOT provide refunds for online courses.
Inclement Weather Policy
Please call the Advantage School of Real Estate at (704)927-8606 prior to class time. If there is a message that class has been cancelled, please call back the following business day for information on the anticipated rescheduled class date for your class or to receive a refund or a credit to take another class.
Attendance
In order to receive CE credit for a course, students must attend the entire class session. Sponsors and instructors may, on a case by case basis, excuse a student for good reason for up to 10% of the scheduled class sessions (20 minutes for a 4-hour class session; however, a student must attend a minimum of 90% of the scheduled class session in order to receive a course completion certificate and CE credit. No exceptions to the 90% attendance are permitted for any reason.
Student Participation
To help assure that the mandatory continuing education program will be one of high quality, the Commission requires that students comply with the following student participation standards:
A student shall direct his active attention to the instruction being provided and refrain from engaging in activities unrelated to the instruction which are distracting to other students or the instructor,or which otherwise disrupt the orderly conduct of a class. [Examples of Prohibited Conduct: Sleeping; reading a newspaper or book; performing office work; carrying on a conversation with another student; making or receiving a call on a cellular phone; receiving a page on a pager that makes a noise; loudly rattling or shifting papers; or repeatedly interrupting and/or challenging the instructor in a manner that disrupts the teaching of the course.]
Sponsors and instructors are required to enforce the student participation standards. Sponsors have been directed to NOT issue a course completion certificate to a licensee who violates the standards and sponsors must report improper behavior to the commission.
Course Completion Reporting
Sponsors are responsible for reporitng course completion information to the Commission via the Internet within 7 days of course completion. Licensees are responsible for assuring that the real estate license number that they provide to the course sponsor is correct.
